I decided to look at past artwork and compare them to what I am doing now in abstract form. I LOVE my Natural Beauties; simple, spontaneous, watercolor expressions. My abstracts are not consistent yet. I’m trying new tools, styles, and blending,
As I reflect, I am seeing a consistency in color selections. I gravitated to the same colors painting abstracts as with my watercolors. This was not planned and hardly a coincidence. My soul is cool and calm to say the least.

As I reflect, I am extremely grateful for 2018, and I look forward to what 2019 has to offer us all. In 2017, I did an interview on “Let’s Talk about it with Rasheedah” you can view it on YouTube (video takes 8 mins to begin) On this interview, I felt like I was rambling quite a bit. A few times I am not even sure if I answered her question. Overall, I felt it was a good show, I was challenged to speak about my journey, my art. But most importantly, it gave me something to critique myself by. Shortly after this interview, I decided to apply to grad school. I concluded, I should get my Masters in Fine Art, and write a book called, “Just Get Started”.
Now that I am in school, what you may not know is that I am not learning how to paint, draw or sculpt. I am learning theory, philosophy and style. I must make hundreds of new pieces, and I’m free to select any medium of choice. It’s my time to explore and grow immensely as an artist. So, watch me go…
Note* Please look for my book, “Just Get Started” in 2019. Its a small book, easy read, with priceless nuggets for the creative person who needs to JUST GET STARTED!
